Oshkosh features: The EAA Fly-in Convention- the world's largest and most significant aviation event. The event offers educational forums, workshops and seminars; full line-up of outstanding evening programs; 15,000 airplanes that range from antique, classic, warbirds to homebuilts, and ultralight aircraft: world's top aerobatic performers in daily airshows and much more ! This year's show is August 1-7 at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh.
Lake Winnebago is the largest inland lake in Wisconsin covering 138,000 acres, with 88 miles of shoreline. It is ideal for
boating and sailing and is one of the best lakes for fishing throughout the year. It can be characterized as having many shallow
reefs along the west shore with a drop-off type shoreline on the east.
The area which began as Indian tribal lands grew with the settlement of traders and immigrants. It expanded further with the
rise of industry and invention. Oshkosh on the water now provides a place to call home for 57,000 residents including 10,000
students. Still present is the history in statues, buildings, landscape, names and stories.
