UNITED EXPRESS ANNOUNCES EXPANDED SERVICE AT GRAND ISLAND, NEBR.

Great Lakes Aviation, Ltd (Nasdaq: GLUX) announced today the expansion of its United Express service at Grand Island, Nebraska. Beginning October 1, 1996, new United Express service will be added between Grand Island and Omaha.
On weekdays, three round trips will be scheduled to Omaha connecting to United Airlines' flights between Omaha and ChicagoO'Hare International Airport where United and United Express carriers offer over 550 flights to more than 150 destinations. United Express flights will depart Grand Island for Omaha on weekdays at 6:45am, 1:15pm and 4:20pm. Return service will depart Omaha to Grand Island on weekdays at 2:40pm, 5:30pm and 8:05pm.

In addition, service to Minneapolis/St Paul will be improved with the addition of two flights bringing Twin Cities service from Grand Island to four round trips on weekdays. Denver service will continue to consist of four flights on weekdays. A reduced schedule will be offered on weekends in all three markets.

Beginning October lst, all United Express flights serving Grand Island will be scheduled in new Beech 1900D aircraft, featuring a stand-up cabin and higher cruise speeds.

The full range of United Airlines product features will be available on the new Omaha flights including a minimum of 500 miles credit in United "Mileage Plus frequent flier program for each flight between Grand Island and Omaha.
