UNITED EXPRESS REINSTATES SERVICE BETWEEN
BROOKINGS, SD AND DENVER

Great Lakes Aviation, Ltd. (Nasdaq: GLUX) announced today the reinstatement of its United Express Denver service at Brookings, SD beginning October 1, 1996. One roundtrip direct flight will be offered on weekdays between Brookings Municipal Airport and Denver International Airport. Two weekday roundtrip flights will be scheduled between Brookings and Minneapolis/ St. Paul.

United Express flights serving Brookings are conveniently timed for United Airlines' business customers and leisure travelers making connections at United's Denver hub where United and United Express carriers provide over 400 daily flights serving over 100 cities.
