Great Lakes Aviation Activates Its Own Reservations System And Inventory Hosting Site; Announces Travel Agency Commission Policy

CHEYENNE, Wyo., Jan. 25 Great Lakes Aviation, Ltd (Nasdaq: GLUX - news) today announced that it has activated its own reservations and inventory hosting site.

Beginning February 1, 2002, for itineraries involving travel only between points served by Great Lakes, flights will carry the ZK code and fares are published under the ZK or Great Lakes Airlines marketing identity. These local fares may also be combined with published fares of other airlines to create travel itineraries using the sum of two local fares.

For passenger trips involving connecting flights with United Airlines, flights and fares will continue to be published with the UA identity under the terms of a code-share agreement between Great Lakes and United Airlines. Under a similar code-share agreement with Frontier Airlines, passenger trips that include connecting flights with Frontier are published with the F9 code on flights and through fares.

Great Lakes Airlines' new call center is located at its Cheyenne, Wyoming headquarters. The new reservations system is call WINGS I-NET and is supported by the Radixx Solutions International in Orlando, Florida. The system is currently in use by a number of U.S. domestic as well as several international airlines. Reservations may be booked through any airline or travel agent computer reservations system or by calling Great Lakes Airlines at 800-554-5111.

Great Lakes Aviation's travel agent commission policy applies to all tickets including prepaid tickets issued on Great Lakes ticket stock (846) for travel beginning February 1, 2002. Great Lakes will pay ARC travel agency outlets a five (5) percent commission on published base fares with a cap of $10 (US) one way and $20 (US) round trip.

As of January 8, 2002, scheduled service was being provided at 48 airports in fifteen states with a fleet of eight Embraer EMB-120 Brasilias and 40 Raytheon/Beech 1900D regional airliners. A total of 218 weekday flights are scheduled at four hubs with 176 flights at Denver International Airport, 24 at Chicago-O'Hare International Airport, 14 at Minneapolis-St. Paul and four at Phoenix. All scheduled flights are operated under the Great Lakes Airlines marketing identity in conjunction with code-share agreements with United Airlines and Frontier Airlines.
