 We all have experienced a sense of deep loss in our great country today. 

 While no one person can assemble words that can provide a nation like ours the amount of assurance that its people need today, it is important that we all step back; take a deep breath and say where can we help?

 The giving of assistance to others in need will provide all that you associate yourself with a boost in confidence and a message that says � Hey we�re alright, we will survive this and grow stronger as a people because of this.�

 As a company and members of the airline industry, our first focus will be addressing the expressions of shock that will continue to prevail at various levels. Each person must make the transition on their own, utilizing fundamental components of their faith in human nature to rebuild their energy level to serve a good purpose.

 It has always been a belief of mine, that one of the key reasons this company exists, is the progressive development of human culture. Great Lakes has in the past and will in the future continue to serve a role to mature people to higher levels of responsibility in the airline industry.

 This day September 11, 2001 will test the skills and maturity levels of each and every member of this family we call the airline industry.

 As a business we will be reliant upon fundamental relationships with our business partners. Communications we have been having with the Federal Government, United Airlines, Frontier Airlines, Raytheon Aircraft, Coast Business Credit (our primary banking relationship) and AON (our lead Insurance Broker) have provided us with the solid support that you would expect from quality business relationships.

 The decisions that we will be required to make, relative to the return to service of operations will require time that will certainly test the patience of employees, customers and the communities we serve.

 I ask that you bear with us as we progress through this process.
